Amerika has achieved a critical mass for stupidity and has now become a perpetual-war nation. I received a Facebook request to sign a ‘Causes’ “PETITION: About Demand Facebook to take down this deplorable page: “Soldiers Deserve to Die – They’re Murderers”

The petition has garnered thousands of signatures and a nauseating amount of support for “our troops”. In light of Amerika’s deteriorating infrastructure, declining morals, failing economy, off-shoring jobs, unwinnable wars, disappearing middle class, vanishing pensions, corrupt finances, ineffective leadership and the recent inability to respond to Hurricane Sandy’s victims; it takes incredibly dumb and self-deluded people to display the extreme patriotism on that Facebook page.

Although the original offensive comments appear to be British in origin, the cause has quickly become an Amerikan paean to the militarization of Amerika. This is not surprising as most Amerikans are about as dumb as a sack of rocks and they’re getting stupider every day. It’s very obvious to me because, having thrown away my TV more than 24 years ago, I still occasionally catch bits of current TV programs when I’m away from home and I’m amazed at how dumbed-down it has become. Those of you still addicted to the boob-tube might not have noticed the change because it’s been so gradual but to me, after more than two decades, it is blatantly obvious. Even what passes for so-called ‘News’ is nothing but entertainment geared to the level of a six year-old and a vehicle for mass propaganda.

In any case, the Facebook tributes to ‘our troops’ is both startling and ominous. They demonstrate incredible ignorance of Amerika’s current wars, both overt and covert wars-by-proxy i.e. support of Jihadists fighting Assad’s Syrian regime. Despite receiving the Nobel Peace Prize, President Obama has presided over more wars (seven) than any President in history. Most Amerikans actually believe the “Arab spring” hoax is a genuine grass-roots uprising when, in fact, anyone with half a brain can see it is orchestrated by Western intelligence agencies.

It also demonstrates how dumbed-down Amerikan education has become. I first noticed the gulf between American and Canadian education forty years ago watching Amerikan students struggling in Canadian universities. And, as dumbed-down as Canadian education has become since then, the gulf between Canadian and American education has grown ever wider.

However, most ominous is how many Amerikans have drunk the perpetual war propaganda Kool-Aid. Below is a small sample of the Facebook turgid posts (spelling errors left in) with my comments attached.

“this is disgusting! my brothers are in the army 1 currently serving in afghan they and their colleagues are the bravest of the brave and DO NOT deserve to die they deserve the upmost RESPECT” [Gerold comment: it’s difficult respecting someone whose asses are
being handed to them by primitive, uneducated Afghanis whose nation we invaded. And, by ‘we’ I include Canadian troops who, when realizing they were fighting an unwinnable war, had the good sense to leave.]

“Disrespectful to all the armed forces who protect us.” [Gerold: protect us from what? Nobody ever attacked Amerika except its own intelligence agencies’ false flag orchestrations like Pearl Harbor in WW II, the Gulf of Tonkin incident during the Vietnam War and most recently the events of 9/11.]

“I’m a Navy Vet, so I say ” You fools at facebook, take it down” If it wasn’t for the armed forces you’d be speaking a different language right now.” [Gerold: WTF language would that be, you fool? Nobody invaded. See above.]

“Being a soldier is an honor. They are protecters. They uphold freedom. Murder and killing have different definitions.” [Gerold: yeah, it’s “murder” when foreigners protect themselves from invasion but “killing” innocent women and children is alright when we do it. This gives new meaning to ‘delusional’.]

“I can’t believe people in our country would betray those who protect us !” [Gerold: there are a lot of “protect us” comments which shows how effective the Amerikan Homeland ‘state of fear’ propaganda has become.]

“As a mother to one of our brave soldiers, I find this highly offensive. Do not know who is responsible for this but they need to walk in the soldiers shoes. TAKE THIS DOWN! My son, father, brother, brother-in-law and many other relatives have fought for AMERICA and the rights of this country, please honor their rights by removing this page.” [Gerold: freedom of speech, it seems, is not one of the rights protected by ‘our troops’. Also that’s a lot of relatives in the military. Obviously not many real jobs left in Amerika.]

“These people deserve to die, see how they feel when they are threatened. F**k this as far as freedom of speach goes.” [Gerold: I wonder how he’ll feel when he’s locked up or shot for something he said.]

“We signed a blank check to our government that said up-to and including our lives and the commitment is till death. Semper Fidelous to all my brothers and sisters.” [Gerold: spoken like a brainwashed vet with a death wish.]

“Remove this page now! It’s a disgrace to all who have served and continue to serve our country and it’s citizens!” [Gerold: the troops only service is to enrich the military-industrial-bankster complex. For that they’re treated like garbage afterward because a disproportionate number of homeless Amerikans are veterans.]

These are just a handful of over 5,000 comments (so far). Only a tiny minority (less than 1%) of the comments protected free speech:

“Its not the soldiers that are murderers……..its their governments, and their lies. Soldiers a brave men who believe they are doing the right thing and protecting their country, they don’t deserve to die. I don’t believe anyone, no matter what they have done deserve to die, I believe killing someone achieves nothing, I believe the public are the guilty ones, for not doing anything to stop their governments from commiting crimes against humanity…..WE ARE THE GUILTY ONES.”

“As much as I detest what these idiots are saying, and they are idiots. We cannot invoke censorship of free speech. This is what our wonderful mean and women fought for. If we eliminate freedom of speech then it is just a matter of time that you will find yourself in the minority and unable to speak your mind. God Bless our troops for the freedoms that they provide for us. Ignore the rest of the idiots.”

The nauseating amount of jingoism (extreme patriotism) made me wonder how many of these posts are real. Could this be military intelligence spamming? Are these people real or fake creations? I clicked on a few at random but I couldn’t spot any fakes although I admit to feeling a bit unclean; like I was looking at people’s dirty laundry. They reminded me of the phrase, “leading lives of quiet desperation”. So, I decided to post something with which I knew the vast majority would disagree. Here’s what I said:

“This whole issue reeks like it’s pushed by the military propagandists and judging by the hive-minded responses there are a LOT of dumbed-down Yanks. No wonder the banksters are robbing your country blind and y’all too stupid to stop ‘em.

“I said it before and I’ll say it again but this time I’ll type real slow so it gradually sinks into your pea-sized brains. Freedom of speech isn’t necessary for that which the majority agrees but to protect those with which the majority disagrees.

“I may not agree with what they said but I’ll defend to the death their right to say it. That’s what soldiers supposedly risked their lives to protect. Freedom is what Amerika used to be about before it was enslaved by the military-industrial-complex leading you sheep to be slaughtered for their profit.

“You keep saying your sons and daughters are “over there” protecting you. From WHAT? Nobody’s invading the U.S so why are your sons and daughters “over there” invading their countries? The only thing U.S. soldiers are protecting are the bankster’s economic hegemony.

“If you don’t like what I said then SHOVE IT! Better yet, get a brain, learn to think for yourself and stop mindlessly parroting Amerika’s perpetual war propaganda.”

Guess what? I did NOT get a single response to this. This should have enflamed at least a few of these numbskulls to say something nasty but they just went on and on posting more of their senseless drivel. Amerika has truly become a dumbed-down war nation. The Amerikan government can do anything it wants. The President can order the assassination of anyone including Amerikan citizens without trial or defense.

The Amerikan banksters boldly steal from everyone. Their daylight robberies are becoming so brazen they don’t even try to cover them up anymore. A perfect example is the Amerikan principle of ‘Rehypothecation’ where a financial institution can literally steal its client’s money. John Corzine is still a free man after his MF Global stole billions of its investor’s money. Being Obama’s buddy, no doubt, helps however the decline of that once-great nation is becoming painfully obvious to Amerika’s friends.

The German website Der Speigel in the article Notes on the Decline of a Great Nation wrote “After a brilliant century and a terrible decade, the United States, in this important election year, has reached a point in its history when the obvious can no longer be denied: The reality of life in America so greatly contradicts the claim — albeit one that has always been exaggerated — to be the “greatest nation on earth,” that even the most ardent patriots must be overcome with doubt.” They’re right on most counts but if they read those Facebook posts they won’t find many doubting patriots.

The failure to prepare for Hurricane Sandy (they had three or four days warning) and the Katrina-like failure to respond afterwards will be covered in more detail in a future post. Such failure signals that Amerika is declining even faster than I thought. However, the willful ignorance that causes this decline makes it difficult to feel any sympathy for them. To paraphrase Pogo, they’ve met the enemy and it’s themselves. Unfortunately, they’re shooting everyone else in the process; they’re dragging the whole world into the grave with them. As I’ve said before, the most dangerous animal is a wounded animal and Amerika with its deliberate dumbness is becoming a danger to every other nation on earth.

In the drama “The Newsroom” below, the anchor says, “”There’s absolutely no evidence to support the statement that we’re the greatest country in the world. We’re seventh in literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science, 49th in life expectancy, 178th in infant mortality, third in median household income, number four in labor force and number four in exports. We lead the world in only three categories: number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe angels are real, and defense spending, where we spend more than the next 26 countries combined.”

So, on November 11, Veteran’s Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in the Commonwealth, when we wear our star-spangled poppies, let’s remember that the poppy became a symbol after the First World War which, at that time was called The Great War and, tellingly, “The War to End All Wars”. Well that didn’t work did it? It did NOT end all wars. It was a FUCKING failure. It ushered in the bloodiest century in all of history. More people were killed in wars in the last century than all the previous wars COMBINED.

And the twenty-first century is beginning to look like another record-breaker with a deranged Amerika supported by death-wish, dumbed-down morons allowing their leaders to pick a fight with China and Russia. That will be a war no one will win. It won’t decide who’s right; only who’s left.

I’m reminded of a poster during the Vietnam War that said, “Suppose they gave a war and nobody came?”

When will we realize that fighting for peace is like fucking for virginity? What if we stopped honoring our vets and, instead, honored our peace-makers?

George Carlin said, “Did you ever stop to think about all the people we kill? They’re always the people who tell us to live together in harmony and try to love on another. Jesus, Gandhi, Lincoln, John Kennedy, Bobby Kennedy, Medgar Evers, Malcom X, Martin Luther King, John Lennon. They all said, “Try to live together peacefully.” BAM! Right in the fucking head. Apparently, we’re not ready for that.”

When will we be ready? Let’s stop glorifying wars by honoring our vets. Instead, let’s honor those who strive for peace instead of murdering them.

I’m throwing away my poppy. It’s a sign of failure and I don’t like being a hypocrite anymore.
