About gerold

I have a bit of financial experience having invested in stocks in the 1960s & 70s, commodities in the 80s & commercial real estate in the 90s (I sold in 2005.) I'm back in stocks. I am appalled at our rapidly deteriorating global condition so I've written articles for family, friends & colleagues since 2007; warning them and doing my best to explain what's happening, what we can expect in the future and what you can do to prepare and mitigate the worst of the economic, social, political and nuclear fallout. As a public service in 2010 I decided to create a blog accessible to a larger number of people because I believe that knowledge not shared is wasted.

Salt is good but wheat is bad

Conventional wisdom is being turned on its head lately. There is evidence that salt may be good for us after all and wheat, even whole wheat, may be bad for us. In fact, too little salt will kill you. And … Continue reading

Why I Don’t Support the Cancer Industry

I refuse to run, walk, donate or in any way support the cancer industry because it is a money-grabbing scam run by shysters who pretend they’re searching for a cure. We’ve been searching for a so-called cure for almost a … Continue reading

Letters to the editor – published

These are some of my letters-to-the-editor that have been published over the last few decades. There are a few more but I didn’t keep a record of all of them. Reading them now, I’m surprised some of them actually saw … Continue reading

Letters to the editor – NOT published

The previous post contains my letters-to-the-editor that WERE published. Below are my letters-to-the-editor that were NOT published. In some cases it’s not surprising. Sometimes, they are not ‘politically correct’; a phrase which disgusts me. Sometimes they are not respectful; I … Continue reading

The On-Going Japanese Fukushima Disaster

I don’t know if the Japanese government is incredibly stupid, incredibly incompetent or completely insane but I suspect it might be all three. Either way, your life and health are still at risk and will be for a long time … Continue reading

The Perfect Hell

Having long pondered humanity’s condition, I have recently developed a truly bizarre theory to explain it. Being the über-skeptic, I believe in neither heaven nor hell and the older I get and the more I see and learn, the more … Continue reading
